Dr. Terry Golway, director of the Kean University Center for History Politics and Policy, is making waves in literary circles and beyond with his new book on the famous New York political machine, Tammany Hall.  Dr. Golway’s book, “Machine Made: Tammany Hall and the Creation of Modern American Politics,” has won praise from reviewers in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Star-Ledger, the New York Observer, and other outlets. Dr. Golway was interviewed in NPR’s “Fresh Air” program on March 5 and was a guest on two MSNBC programs, “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell and “Up with Steve Kornacki.” The Irish Arts Center will present dramatic re-creations from his book on March 18 at 7:30 p.m. More information and tickets are available on The event will be covered by C-SPAN and broadcast later in March.

“Machine Made” cracked Amazon’s list of top 200 sellers and has been the site’s No. 1 seller in both U.S. history and in political history.
